ADSL2+/ ADSL
What's ADSL2+?
Based on same technical structure as ADSL, ADSL2+ reached consent at the ITU in January 2003, joining the ADSL2 standards family as G.992.5. ADSL2+ doubles the downstream bandwidth, increasing the downstream data rate to as much as 24Mbps.
What's ADSL?
G.dmt full-rate ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) is a technology
that can expand the useable bandwidth of existing copper telephone
lines, delivering high-speed data communications at rates of up
to 8Mbpsand up to 768 kbps upstream when operating over telephone
lines at distances of up to 18,000 feet The technology brings full-motion
video, telecommuting, and high-speed Internet access to the home
or business, all without interrupting normal telephone service.
